From Branch to Tree: A New Season for Our Practice

As our practice has grown from a solo endeavor to a collaborative team of therapists, we felt it was time for our name and logo to grow with us. What began as “Danielle Counselling” is now “Danielle Jeffery & Associates” — a name that better reflects the heart of who we are and the community of care we've become.

Our new logo, too, marks this shift — evolving from a single olive branch to a flourishing olive tree. This isn’t just a design update. It’s a reflection of our deeper philosophy of healing and growth.

The olive tree is known for its strength in the face of difficulty — growing in dry, rocky terrain, enduring wind and drought, and still bearing fruit. We see healing in much the same way.

At our practice, we offer a space where every person’s story is honored, where agency is respected, and where your worth is never in question. Rooted in person-centered therapy, our approach places you at the center of your own healing journey — not as someone to be fixed, but as someone to be known, supported, and empowered.

Just as the olive tree transforms difficulty into strength, we believe that the challenges and terrain you've walked through are not signs of weakness, but the soil from which resilience grows. Healing, like fruit-bearing, takes time — but it is possible. And when healing begins to take root, it doesn't just nourish your life — it becomes a source of strength, hope, and restoration for those around you.

As our team continues to grow, so does our vision: to create a healing community where you can find safety, meaning, and real, lasting change.

Our Vision

To be a trusted place of healing, growth, and belonging in Durham Region — where whole-person care and compassionate therapists help shape the future of mental health.

Our Mission

To offer hope through compassionate, evidence-based care that supports the whole person — bridging psychological insight with genuine human connection. Through personalized care, we support meaningful healing for clients and nurture the growth of authentic and reflective therapists.

Our Values

1. Dignity & Worth
Every person holds inherent value. We honour each client’s and therapist’s story, pace, and sovereignty.

2. Compassionate Presence
Healing and learning begin with being seen. We offer empathy, attunement, and non-judgment in every relationship.

3. Evidence-Based, Personalized Care
We draw from research-supported practices and adapt our work to each client’s or supervisee’s identity, culture, and context.

4. Rooted Faith, Open Hearts
Our practice is grounded in a spiritual foundation of love and service, guiding how we care for and honour everyone who walks through our doors.

5. Clinical Integrity
We uphold ethical, accountable, and reflective practice — blending science, skill, and soul in everything we do.

6. Relational Healing & Learning
Transformation happens in relationships — with clients and within our team. We learn together, support one another, and grow in both competence and character.

7. Hope Without Pressure
We hold space for growth and possibility, without rushing the process. Healing and professional development both take time — and we walk with patience and trust.

Why Whole-Person Care Matters

Research continues to affirm what many clients intuitively know: healing is not just about symptom reduction, but about feeling known, safe, and connected (Norcross & Wampold, 2011). Person-centered therapy, originally developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizes unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authenticity — elements shown to be as predictive of client outcomes as any particular intervention (Elliott, Greenberg, & Lietaer, 2004).

Moreover, integrative therapy approaches that include spirituality and values-based frameworks — when aligned with the client's worldview — can foster meaning-making, resilience, and post-traumatic growth (Pargament, 2007). At Danielle Jeffery & Associates, we meet clients where they are, drawing from evidence-based modalities while respecting each person’s unique identity, culture, and inner world.

Looking Ahead

This new season is about more than branding. It’s about stepping fully into who we are becoming — as a practice, a team, and a community.

Whether you’re seeking therapy for the first time or returning to continue your healing journey, we’re here to walk with you. Our hope is that every person who enters our care feels seen, respected, and empowered — not just in therapy, but in life.

Welcome to Danielle Jeffery & Associates.
